There are still two full-blown Pioneer Chickens, one on Soto in Boyle Heights, and one in Bell Gardens, and then there’s one more, but it doesn’t have the entire menu in West LA. You really can’t beat the orangey-golden-colored crispy batter. The spicy rice is another treat. One thing that they don’t have anymore is a little individually packaged cup of strawberry shortcake.
