I will never sing with the perfection of Freddie Mercury, play guitar with the imagination of Jimi Hendrix, play drums with the skill of John Bonham, play bass with an ear for underlying melodies like Paul McCartney, pen lyrics like Bob Dylan, arrange a song like Brian Wilson or have the production skills of Phil Spector. But I have a damn good time creating my music with all its flaws, tempo fluctuations, missed or wrong notes, crappy production and mediocre songwriting. This is Jackass Penguins. If you don’t like it, thanks for trying, but it’s not for everyone. And if you do like it, wow, that’s really something, isn’t it? I always am caught off guard when that happens. For something that has been a secret to so many people close to me for so long, it really means a lot that you can connect to it. The majority of people in my life don’t know that I create this stuff since I have compartmentalized this part of me for so long. So if you happen to be one of the few people who like my songs, thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you don’t, I still appreciate that you took the time to give it a shot.
