Re-release Announcement

Tomorrow, Tuesday June 9, 2015 will be the release date for the digital version of Songs for a Lost Generation, which was recorded and released on cassette 20 years ago this month. Do not expect a satisfying album. This was recorded only a year after I had picked up guitar for the second time. You will hear me struggle as I try to play each song the whole way through. Most of Side A was recorded a second time, and the endings of first takes that ran longer than the final song are left in place. Side B has songs that were recorded in my neighbor’s bedroom and can be classified as noise. The album ends with random radio signals captured on tape. Throughout the album is the warble of the boombox as it struggles to record. There was also the use of a real microphone that was used both conventionally and also as a rudimentary electric pickup on my warped classical acoustic guitar rigged with metal strings. The guitar and my vocals are often out of tune, I was trying to thrash riffs using a pick meant for soft lullabies, and the lyrics were written by a psychopath. But it documents a time period very well, and is funny at times too.
