(47/365) The oldest song you own: If you asked me this a month ago, it would have been Robert Johnson, but this is a year older than his oldest recordings. There will never be anyone like Billie Holiday.

It’s not Eurythmics and it’s not Van Halen. It’s a song about preschool/day care.

(46/365) Your favorite song of this year: As much of a sucker I am for Goatsnake, I was very happy to hear this acoustic-based album from Airborne Toxic Event. It has many great songs, and feels like a return to form for them after a few so/so albums that I like, but aren’t really that profound. My favorite album is their debut, but this comes in at a close second.

Lots of free stuff over on the BandCamp page.

(44/365) Your favorite song from the 90’s: I get chills, FUCKING CHILLS, listening to this, it’s over 20 years old now! This will probably always be (at least for me) the pinnacle of achievement in the Smashing Pumpkins catalog. Although 33 is so very close, and I like the video for 33 better, but here’s my favorite song from the 90’s, at least for right now.
