Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder in the studio recording Just Good Friends for Michael’s BAD album. [1987]
Favourite Michael Jackson Moments (3/?)
Michael Jackson goes back into the studio to guide Stevie Wonder out after running off and forgetting about him.😂

Menswear by J.C. Penney, 1970s
My dad had the pants second from the left. But I can’t really make fun of him because I wore parachute pants circa 1991.
Nostalgia – it’s delicate, but potent. Teddy told me that in Greek, “nostalgia” literally means “the pain from an old wound.” It’s a twinge in your heart far more powerful than memory alone. This device isn’t a spaceship, it’s a time machine. It goes backwards, and forwards… it takes us to a place where we ache to go again. It’s not called the wheel, it’s called the carousel. It let’s us travel the way a child travels – around and around, and back home again, to a place where we know are loved.
Well, a journey can’t start without great travel music. No, not the ‘my favorite song playlist or road-trip music’. That’s too easy. I’m talking about great album titles that talk about traveling, taking ‘trips’, going places.
Tonight we pulled out the best album titles about ‘going somewhere’.
There were many that were just named after places. You know the easy ones, ‘Abbey Road’, ‘London Calling’, Hotel California’, ‘Nebraska’, ‘Californication’,
‘The Joshua Tree’, ‘Highway 61 Revisited’…, ‘Exile on Main Street’, you get the idea.Well, there are such better titles that encompass the traveling theme in a more unique way. There are many but we knocked out a quick top 10 (in no particular order)-
1. Space Oddity
2. Everyone Knows this is Nowhere
3. Fly Like an Eagle
4. Two Tickets to Paradise
5. Born to Run
6. Maiden Voyage
7. Highway to Hell
8. Jefferson Airplane Takes Off
9. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road… and the classic
10. Wish You Were Here
Got any other titles you would add??
It’s not on vinyl yet, but Fu Manchu “King of the Road” is great and would definitely fit on this list. Another one that has a completely different vibe would be Matt Sharp’s solo album. Again, I am not sure if this was pressed on vinyl, but has Goodbye West Coast and Thoughts From A Slow Train. Maybe Led Zep In Through The Out Door too.

So I go in my old cassette case and I see Hourglass sitting where Mow should be. And I realize that Mow is missing. I’m losing tapes left and right. It’s really annoying.
Jackass Penguins self-titled album
I am listening to the self titled album on cassette from 1995
1. Corn – This is the same version as on Dos Equis
2. Kelphead – I haven’t listened to this in a long time. It’s just like I remember
3. Pandemonia – The sound quality is poorer, but I forgot that I recorded an additional vocal on top of the track you hear on Dos Equis. I wish it sounded better.
4. Mint – This is another track I recorded over. There’s a version that Alayne recorded with a dissonant organ, and I made this into a duet. In parts it sounds OK.
5. Mural – Wow. This is terrible. I took the version where Alayne sings over my guitar and then recorded another out of tune guitar and my vocals on top.
5.5 – (Hidden Track) Clip of an R.E.M. song from Monster (end of side a)
6. Bud/So Good To Me – I recorded guitar and vocals and then drums on top. Drums are clear but everything else isn’t. Also out of tempo at times.
7. God (Died In Maine) – Same recording method as the last song. In the verse I used a rattle and it sounds ridiculous
8. Yes I Am Fucking You – Same version as Dos Equis
9. Zzyzx – Just guitar and vocals. The guitar drones in a charming way
10. Stren – Just guitar and vocals. Maybe the best sounding song so far
11. (Hidden Track) Just Like Elvis Presley – Song by Alayne recorded on top of Dead Milkmen’s “Vince Lombardi Service Center” I have it on here or on SoundCloud.
(Hidden track) NoFX “New Boobs” just because
(Hidden track) song snippet, not sure by who or what it is
