This is the dub version of Nuthin’ But A ‘G’ Thang that’s found on Dilutions of Grandeur. The decision to rap (poorly) over this track was made at the end of recording, so yes the music is original, the rapping was an afterthought. Not long after this was recorded, Snoop Dogg tried being a Lion. I’d like to think there was some connection but I know it’s just a crazy coincidence.
Another instrumental, this time the title track from 2010’s “Furlough Jam”. Just an off-the-cuff song recorded in the dog days of the Great Recession. Enjoy.
It wasn’t until after we listened to this track (off of 2010’s “Furlough Jam”) that we realized we had totally ripped off “When The Levee Breaks” by Led Zeppelin. Still, it rocks hard. Stoners rejoice.
From the 2010 EP “Furlough Jam” comes this cover of Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg with a reggae twist. Recorded on a whim during the dog days of the Great Recession, when I had plenty of time and not enough money. A little over a year after this (and an alternate cut called “Dub Thang”) came out, Snoop Dogg becomes Snoop Lion and enthusiastically records reggae music. Coincidence? Most likely. But it’s nice to imagine that somehow Mr. Snoop Dogg was inspired by this cut.
