One of a few songs in the JP catalog that doesn’t feature Derrick at all. This seemed appropriate today, if not for the subtle reminder to go get your free slurpees before they run out of cups. I don’t want any of you to become the subject of this song. From the Interstate album, which showcased how much better a musician Alayne was than Derrick at the time.

A furious song that struggles to hold itself together, but one of my favorite to play. Written about stopping to get gas in Cuyama on the way to Santa Maria. Not sure why this evoked such an angst-filled response, but it works for me.

This song was actually included on the amazing “Hourglass” album, at the end of Side A (after Translucent). You can hear the whole album, sans Trona, on our Soundcloud page. Also excluded for copyright reasons were soundclips from an interview with Beck Hansen and other ear candy. This was the worst recording on the whole album, which is why I didn’t include it on Soundcloud, but it is still a good song. Enjoy.

This is our halfway decent Pearl Jam cover from the 2006 album “Ain’t Tryin 2 Pleez”. As always, there are some mistakes, but I think it’s an OK version. Why can’t we record the times when we don’t fuck up? Oh well, enjoy.

I remember the first time I heard Beck. I was doing my thing in Jackass Penguins, and then Beck came onto the scene, and it was crazy. It was like what we were doing, only 1000x better. I have the utmost respect for him and his body of work. This is our stab at his breakout song.
