Call From Groovy Tuesday

A subjective playlist based on my three-ish qualifications which would qualify a song as “groovy”:

  1.  The song must include the word “groovy” in the lyrics.
  2. The song must be from (or close to) the general time that “groovy” was widely used; this mostly commonly includes the 60s and 70s, but I am willing to break this rule if the song is in line with rule 3.
  3. The song must be “groovy”. Obviously this is incredibly opinionated, but so was Ray Manzarek and no one seemed to mind.

  1. Reach Out of the Darkness – Friend & Lover
  2. We’ve Got a Groovy Thing Goin’ – Simon & Garfunkel
  3. Turn Down Day – The Cyrkle

You could add A Groovy Kind of Love by The Mindbenders, Susie Cincinnati by The Beach Boys, A Little Less Conversation by Elvis, Born Cross-eyed by Grateful Dead and kind of late to the game, but Trampled Under Foot by Led Zeppelin.
