(54/365) The song that got you hooked on your favorite band/artist. It took me a while to figure out what album this song was on. It took me even longer to figure out how to pronounce the title. Hint: it’s not die-er make-er.

(53/365) The song that you’re most proud of knowing all the words to. This was very hard to decipher, but it’s awesome.
(52/365) A song that you’ve been listening to for years & you still don’t know what the heck they’re saying: Don’t bother with the lyrics at the YouTube page for this song, they’re rubbish. No one knows what he was saying and no one ever will. Whatever it is, it sounds cool.
(51/365) A song that you realized you’ve been mishearing the lyrics for years: My first instinct on this was Loser by Beck, but I already used that, so this was naturally the next pick. Once you know the lyrics it’s like, “obvi.”
(50/365) A song that you’ve listened to for years & have just recently begun to appreciate: I got this CD for free somehow right after it was released. I didn’t really care for it at the time, but this album has turned out to be one that has aged well. I think I like it more each time I listen to it.
(49/365) Your favorite TV show theme song: SO CATCHY. I grew up with Fraggles.
(48/365) A song that you wish you could’ve written: This song was never even finished and it’s more beautiful than anything I could ever hope to write.
(47/365) The oldest song you own: If you asked me this a month ago, it would have been Robert Johnson, but this is a year older than his oldest recordings. There will never be anyone like Billie Holiday.
(46/365) Your favorite song of this year: As much of a sucker I am for Goatsnake, I was very happy to hear this acoustic-based album from Airborne Toxic Event. It has many great songs, and feels like a return to form for them after a few so/so albums that I like, but aren’t really that profound. My favorite album is their debut, but this comes in at a close second.
(45/365) Your favorite song from the 00’s: When I first heard this on a college radio station, I thought it had to be The Rentals. It sounds more like The Rentals than The Rentals on their latest album Songs from Alphaville. Bottom line: this song is super catchy and it’s charm has never worn off. Hope you enjoy.
