As a liberal, I frequently mock the utter falsehoods spread by Fox “News”. But it is equally disturbing to me that people have embraced the Facebook page Stop the World, The Teabaggers Want Off, which pushes satirical fake quotes that take the general sentiment of what a conservative figurehead says to the nth degree. Many people don’t realize that the site is satire, because the conservatives are that crazy. It is sad to see so many people easily manipulated. I would rather convince people of the righteousness of liberal causes with facts than satirical distortions of the truth that people mistake for facts.
